MotionMaker™

MotionMaker™ is a stationary device for the investigation, diagnosis, training and rehabilitation of muscular strength and endurance, as well as articular mobility and movement coordination. This device enables an initial return to physical fitness, and the physiological functions involved. It guarantees optimal stimulation for the potential motor pattern re-programming of selected movements.
This device is equipped with two orthoses for the lower limbs, associated with CLEMS-type neuromuscular electrical stimulation, which guarantees perfect control of the programmed movements (amplitude, speed and force) with additional loading resistance to the movement. MotionMaker™ allows all the extension/flexion movements of the lower limb joints, both in closed muscular chain (leg-press, cycling, walking movements, etc.) and in open muscular chain (mono-articular movements of the hip, knee and ankle).

Thus all types of tests and therapeutic training can be programmed and carried out with great precision and safety. Furthermore, a recent clinical study has shown that MotionMaker™ also has a most favourable effect on spasticity.
Patients efficiently trained on MotionMaker™, will then be ready to begin specific and effective training with WalkTrainer™.

The MotionMaker™ is certified and available to doctors, therapists and patients.

WalkTrainer™

WalkTrainer™ is a mobile device allowing upright posture and training with true locomotion for paralysed patients, by closely mimicking natural, voluntary, over-ground walking. This real deambulation of the subject, in his environment, will thus no only stimulate the re-learning of the functional motor pattern of over-ground walking in an optimal manner, but also its motivation, which constitutes an indispensable element in the efficacy of the subject's re-education.
This device therefore represents a decisive step forward over current walk-training. This is usually carried out on motorised treadmills (or similar devices) where the subject does «on-the-spot robotic walking» which does not stimulate the "normal" motor pattern of «real» walking.

Subjects who have not recovered sufficient autonomic functional walking with WalkTrainer™, could be equipped with WalkMaker™.

The first prototype WalkTrainer™ made it possible to validate feasibility of an CLEMS-type neuromuscular electrical stimulation for training over-grund walking.

WalkMaker™

WalkMaker™ is a walk-assisting cyberthosis using CLEMS- type electrical stimulation, which should allow those who are too severely injured to recover voluntary walking with WalkTrainer™, to practise functional autonomous orthotic walking.

StimMaker™

To satisfy the project's needs in terms of functional electrical stimulation (large number of channels, importance of safety,...), a high performance electro stimulator has been specially developed. This electro stimulator contains 20 independent modularised channels, each regulated in real time by a central control unit. Each channel deliver an impulse of current in rectangular form, symmetrically biphasic. The frequency and width of the impulses are adjustable.
As the user's safety is the main concern, different safety measures have been taken on the mechanical and electronic side such as impulse delay, the limitation of programmable current and tests of control and communications.
