SWORTEC PLC

The manufacture and sale of medical devices, real tools in the concept of re-education, are neither aims of the SFC, nor within its competence. Consequently, these tasks will be entrusted to the partner company SWORTEC PLC.

In light of the above-mentioned objective, and with the agreement of the 'Autorité de Surveillance des Fondations' (foundation controlling authority), in the summer of 2004, the SFC created the company SWORTEC SA - Swiss Orthotic Technologies plc, to whom will be entrusted the production and international marketing of devices developed par la SFC. To this end, SWORTEC SA, with an exclusive licence from the SFC, will soon be separated from the foundation, and become autonomous, only linked to the SFC by a licence contract. It will then be liable to pay royalties to the SFC.

This original strategy should permit the SFC, and particularly its body of specialists in the field to keep tight control over marketing and the training of doctors, therapists and users  in the concepts and devices put at their disposal, and also ensure the Foundation's perenniality by the «auto-financing» of R&D, according to the aims expressed in its statutes.
